CBRA - The Next Big Reform in Consumer Bankruptcy?
CBRA - The Next Big Reform in Consumer Bankruptcy?
The Consumer Bankruptcy Reform Act (CBRA) is a proposed law that would make some major changes to the way consumer bankruptcies are handled in the United States. If enacted, CBRA would:
-Require creditors to provide more information to consumers about their options for dealing with debt.
-Give consumers more time to repay their debts.
-Make it harder for creditors to collect on debts that have been discharged in bankruptcy.
These changes would make it easier for consumers to get out of debt and rebuild their credit after bankruptcy. The CBRA is expected to be introduced in Congress sometime in 2020.''
