Public Service Loan Forgiveness for student loans is a program created to help students who are employed in the public service sector to reduce or eliminate their outstanding student loan debt. The program provides federal student loan borrowers who work in public service jobs with the opportunity to have part, or even all of their outstanding federal student loan balance forgiven after making 120 qualifying payments over 10 years, also known as “loan forgiveness”.
