Generally speaking, someone will not be liable for your credit card debt if it isn't in their name. So if you're the only one on the account, then no one else will be responsible for paying off the balance. However, if a joint account holder or authorized user is listed on the account — such as a spouse or family member — they may be held responsible for any remaining debt upon your death.
