If you've received a letter informing you of a Meeting of Creditors, it means that you're being asked to attend a hearing in front of a bankruptcy trustee. The meeting is part of the process for filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and it gives creditors an opportunity to ask the debtor questions about his or her financial situation.
You're not required to bring anything with you to the meeting, but it's important to dress professionally and be prepared to answer any questions the trustee or creditors may have. The meeting usually lasts no more than 10 minutes, and you'll typically be the only person in attendance other than the trustee and any creditors who choose to attend.
After the meeting, the trustee will review your bankruptcy petition and supporting documentation to make sure everything is in order.
