What Happens After the 341 Meeting of Creditors?

The first thing that happens after the 341 meeting of creditors is that the trustee will review all of the paperwork and documentation that was submitted by the debtor. The trustee will then make a determination as to whether or not the debtor is eligible for a discharge. If the debtor is determined to be eligible for a discharge, the next step is for the trustee to file a report with the court.

Once the report is filed with the court, a hearing will be scheduled. At this hearing, the judge will review all of the information and decide whether or not to grant a discharge. If a discharge is granted, all of the debts that are listed on the bankruptcy petition will be wiped away and the debtor will no longer be legally obligated to repay them.
